Thank You @ My One Year Blogiversary

PP245 Pleasant Poppies Lots of Thanks

On May 18, 2014, I wrote my very first blog post at LifeinBetween.me.  I imagine many of you weren’t with me then…

I just re-read it – and found a TYPO!  Ugh!  I thought about correcting it, but then…. it is what it is…  (Can you find it?)

PP245 Pleasant Poppies Lots of Thanks 3

I’ve posted every day for the past year, and I can’t believe how much I have enjoyed it.  I can’t believe the wonderful friends who have followed me through this and the wonderful friends I have made along the way.

PP245 Pleasant Poppies Lots of Thanks 2

THANK YOU, my 1,150+ friends at LifeInBetween.me for sharing this journey with me!

To thank YOU, I’d like to give away this card I made in honor of the occasion.

It’s not much, but it is from my HeART.

Here’s the plan….

Add a comment to this post letting me know what you enjoy most about LifeInBetween.Me.

Is it the recipes?  the cards?  the “art”work/crafting?   photography?  poetry/writing?  personal stories…?

PP245 Pleasant Poppies Lots of Thanks 4

To all those that comment, I will randomly draw one name to send this blank card to so that you can use it to send to someone to thank them for a thoughtful gesture.

I will allow a few days for comments and draw a winner on Friday.

I had so much fun making this card on a rainy Sunday morning.  I didn’t know where I was going with it or how it was going to turn out, but it evolved into a card I love.

Not only was I inspired by my desire to thank all of you, but The Paper Players Challenge is for a “girly” thank you card, and the Can You Case It Challenge was for May flowers, so I am entering this card into both of these “challenges.”

For this card, I used the StampinUp Pleasant Poppies Stamp stamped on Typeset Designer Series Paper with Black Stazon Ink, which I “watercolored” with an aqua paint brush using Tangelo Twist, Real Red, and Old Olive Inks.  The sentiment is from StampinUp’s Lots of Thanks stamp set.  I embellished with some linen thread, an antique button, some olive candy dots and a lace doily.  I also used my favorite Lil’ Inkers Stitched Rectangles Die Cut to create the “stiched” rectangles.

I am a StampinUp Hobby Demonstrator, so if you are interested in learning more about StampinUp or ordering products, feel free to let me know.

PP245 Pleasant Poppies Lots of Thanks

Thank you all for a wonderful year of blogging at lifeinbetween.me.  I look forward to sharing more in the coming year, and I hope you will share your thoughts with me.

Cheers & Hugs,

Jodi

    • Right back at ya, my bloggin’ buddy! I feel the same way about yours. It is one I look for EVERY morning! A couple days recently, it didn’t show up until a little later, and I was concerned. Not sure if it was on my end or yours, but just so you know, I’m paying attention 🙂 Thank you for your encouragement, support, and kindness! You’ve played such a role in my artistic development. I will be forever grateful. xo

      • Thank you so much, Jodi!

It’s WP, coughing and spluttering. I have to schedule for 4:30am to have the post appear at 5:30, and then if I bounce in and out of the other editor, it messes with the time some more….which is what happened this morning and those other mornings. Do you know of a way around this? It’s the “beep boop boop” editor that is the problem child. (Not sure how else to describe that, lol)

      • So it’s not just me – phew! And I’m glad all is well with you too. I find using the WP Admin to post much more reliable from the dashboard. I know exactly what you mean by the beep boop boop editor 🙂

  5. Your blog is always a cool cup of water to me. I appreciate you so much. I like the blog as a composite whole, but as you know, I tend to gravitate toward the recipes. I like that even though our lives are very different, we keep finding things that are similar. Like being a mother. Like trying to mother everyone. And I know what you mean about that in between place. I am there right now. Being a grandma later would be AWESOME.

I found your little typo but only because you told us to look for it. Besides, you used it so confidently, perhaps we all thought it was a new word we had not heard before!

    • Oh RR – I couldn’t agree more! I always appreciate your posts too – I don’t always “get”/understand them, but I “appreciate” them. And I think that’s ok, because they are very personal and poetic. And you have so much passion in every single one of them, who could not be drawn in?! Thank you for your very very kind comments. I appreciate you too!!!

  8. Congratulations on your one year anniversary. You have done remarkably well. I love reading your posts and I did read your first one today. I thought I’d check out to see if deocrating was a word but luckily it isn’t so it doesn’t change the meaning of your sentence. I love your recipes and am really enjoying your journey into watercolours.

  11. Jodi, this is an amazing card. You are so creative and I just love that you stamped and watercolored the image on the typeset DSP. It is so beautiful. It’s hard to say which I enjoy more, your cards or your stories. I think it’s a tie! I sure always enjoy your blog. Thanks for joining us at CYCI this week!

    • Thanks Tina – I had no idea how this card was going to end up, but I did know I wanted to stamp those poppies on the typeset paper and watercolor them. I’m glad you enjoy my silly stories that go along with my “art” 🙂

  14. Sorry Jodi, that I have not followed since day one, but I love the artwork. Didn’t catch the error, but I have a hard time catching all of mine as it is. I should send more comments so I can stack the deck in my favor, the card is gorgeous. :O)

  15. Jodi, congratulations! Well, what do I like best about your blog? It’s everything! The artwork, painting, cards, photography, baking, gardening, nature walks, family time, friends time! Now I go back to the cards mostly because I love them, and as you know I’ve borrowed a few to include in posts! I must say this one is incredible. It checks off all my likes – red/orange/pink color, flowers, background words (oranges, horticulture) and the special decoration! Okay…I did read your first post (and left a comment). Your thought – these testy little buggers – could be both tasty & testy. As you said they were temperamental! Made me chuckle! Happy Blogosphere First Year Anniversary Day! Christine

    • Christine, I had no idea people (LIKE YOU!) were going to be so kind and complimentary when I asked this question – I am almost embarrassed worrying that it looks like I am asking for praise. I really just wondered what people like best as I am curious what drives folks to my blog. 🙂 Thank you for your kindness. You have been my blogger friend for quite a while, and I so so so appreciate you. Thank YOU!

  16. Helloooo, dear Jodi. Look, anybody can write a blog with recipes or creative cards or photography or whatever. The blogosphere abounds with those. But not everybody is able to wear their authentic heart on their sleeve as appealingly as you do. Blogs that are all about “look how wonderful I am” grow tedious. I like the note of humility and honesty that runs through your posts. So keep up the good word and continue having fun sharing your Life on Mars. Honestly, Jodi, every day? How do you do it? But I’m awfully happy you do.

    • I so appreciate this comment, Barbara. I am glad you realize and it comes across that I never want to be a bragger as I am not all that wonderful – just me – just doing simple fun things – and so honored to share them and have such wonderful, beautiful people appreciate and enjoy. You have been with me for quite a while – one of my first new blogger friends. We have been through much together. Today was a tough day. I am getting ready to write tomorrow’s post. I know you will understand. xo
