Watercolor West Village

West Village New York Watercolor Rusty Railing Brownstone

Some of you may remember a recent photo I shared, “You Caught My Eye Most of All.”

I was encouraged by a few to try watercoloring this photo.

Very amateur – very loose – here is my take:  Watercolor of West Village.

    • Thanks Laura. Almost didn’t post this – not extremely happy with it. But all part of the journey. And it was fun. I love putting water down then dropping in paint and watching what happens. Precise work not as enjoyable… YET anyway. 😉

      • It’s awesome, isn’t it? I love that aspect too.

Yeah, we’ve talked about that before too….if I had to be satisfied with everything I posted, you’d see a couple portraits, a couple birds and that’s probably it. The nice thing about blogging for me is that part of me that isn’t happy with XYZ has to be squashed and squelched. The show must go on, lol. And it’s good to shush that part of us (the critic). He’s not serving us well.

You keep painting, and you’ll get where you want to go. I’m glad you’ve found something you love so much. Art is the best. 💜🎨💜

  1. Jodi, this is magnificent. You really captured the scene. I like how it is random as watercolor in my mind is…but the detail in the tree trunk caught my eye- it fits in so well. I love the people and the railing. I am really impressed and happy that you share your travels into creativity with everyone at lifeinbetween- you are in inspiration.
