Who Needs an Office with a Window?

…when you are fortunate enough to work from a home office.

I often start out early in the morning on the back deck where the morning sun is bright and warm.

But when it gets too hot there, I move to the side porch for some shade,

or the front porch to swing a bit while typing.

Sometimes it’s necessary to work in THE actual home office…

but I also might sit at the kitchen table,

or more often stand at the kitchen counter,

or even curl up on the couch.

And though I so terribly miss my little four-legged co-worker, buddy, and pal, Mikey who was constantly by my side,

Mikey and the ice

many of you have asked about our new neighbor, the baby cardinal.

Well – she visits often.  She has learned to eat from the feeders and is growing fast.

Isn’t she cute?!

She hangs out with the menagerie of other cardinals, goldfinches, grosbeaks, woodpeckers, orioles, and all the others that flutter about in our backyard.

So who needs an office with a window – eh?

I am so fortunate to have my office at home tweet home.

Cheers & Hugs,

Jodi

(Some of you commented about enjoying my “behind the scenes” photo the other day, so I thought you might enjoy a few more behind the scene photos.)

    • LOL Ilze – I thought you might get a kick out of that – literallly did in like 15 minutes the other morning, just walking around thinking of all the places I end up on any given day. 🙂 Usually my camera is next to me too – just in case – for just “that shot!” too.

    • Thanks John – it’s almost as hot as your neck of the woods today! And top it off with a cagillion percent humidity! Back in the house this afternoon, but lovely early morning out on the deck 🙂

    • Thanks for visiting Christine! It really helps me physically, mentally, and creatively to move around to different spaces – especially working home alone. Do you stay in one office space while you work?

      • Yes! I prefer to work on a desktop with multi-screen features. The printer’s nearby, and the ability to research the web for information. At times I do check e-mails on a cell phone at a living-room table. My home office study does have color though…Aegean blue/green abstract paintings and a mermaid, sea plant painted demijohn (from Greece). Need to have those blue/green colors to spark creative writing! And then, there are your home office spaces to remember! (smile)! Christine

  4. Ms. Jodi, we don’t know what happened, but your posts have not been showing up in my secretary’s feed. She just re-followed your blog, which we hope will fix that problem. It is very nice to see your many workspaces, and we enjoyed your remembrance of Mike here. 🙂

    • Hi Albert! I wondered where you’ve been! That has happened to me on some of my friend’s blogs too, so I understand, and it drives me mad! Thanks for looking for me and coming back! Hope you and your people are doing well!
