Oh Happy Day with Sprinkled Donuts

PP255 Starburst Sayings and Cherry on Top DSP

Could you go for a donut with sprinkles on top right about now?

Wouldn’t that make for A Happy Day!?

It’s Sunday, so time for me to share a design inspiration for this week’s Paper Players Challenge:  PP255.  This week is a sketch challenge, so we get to use anything we want to create something that resembles this sketch.

I think this Stampin’Up Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper featuring the sprinkled donuts is so cute and cheerful, and I love the “Oh Happy Day Stamp, so I made this card, adding a little gold bling by making the “tag” from punchinella.  Punchinella is the sheet that is left over after making sequins.  Did you know that?  How clever is that for someone to market and SELL!?!?  And isn’t it just that extra little pop that makes this card?

I used some foam tape to make the Oh Happy Day Starburst Sentiment pop up off the card a bit for even more dimension, and used scissors on the bakers twine to make it curl a bit.

Here is what I used to make the card.

  1. What a fab bright and punchy card – love the tag Jodi, I had no idea that’s what the sequin offcuts were called!! I might have been tempted by a donut, had I not scrolled down first and seen the cinnamon cake – I am so going to make this when I get back from my vacation!!! You are great for my creativity, but not so much for my waistline lol!!!

  2. It looks like you had a blast on your GF weekend…..what a special time! And this card is cute and special too…who wouldn’t want a donut card!? I haven’t ventured into using this DSP yet, but after seeing this cheerful creation, I am sure I can come up with SOME sentiment to go with it!!! Adorable!

  3. Punchinella! How cool! This card has such a neat retro feel, thanks to your addition of punchinella. It brings me back to the days when I worked for my parents in the garden center, and we had huge rolls of this stuff to make bows for Christmas wreaths. I never knew it had a name! Now off to check out your delightful cinnamon cake…
