Can you even imagine…..
cookies with chopped up mini Milky Way bites…
and then….
stuffed with some ooey gooey caramel right in the middle?!
Yep – that’s what I made last weekend when I needed a treat to take to a party.
I had the cookie dough ready with the chopped up Milky Way bites, when my oldest son texted me a photo of some caramel stuffed chocolate chip cookies with this message:
“Here is your next challenge.”
Well – I do love a challenge…
And I did happen to have a bag of caramels in the pantry…
so why not?! If caramel stuffed chocolate chip cookies are good, wouldn’t they be even more amazing with chopped up Milky Way bites?
And O. M. G.!
My youngest son said they are his new fave! Woohoo! Score!
Milky Way Caramel Stuffed Cookies
4 sticks butter, softened
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups white granulated sugar
2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
5 cups all purpose flour
2 8-oz bags Milky Way Unwrapped Bites, chopped
1 bag of Kraft Caramels, unwrapped
Directions:
With electric mixer, beat butter and sugar together until completely incorporated. Add vanilla and eggs, and beat until light and fluffy. Add baking soda and salt, and mix another minute. Gradually add flour and beat until well incorporated, but do not overbeat.
Fold in chopped Milky Way Bites. Refrigerate dough for at least 2 hours or up to 2 days.
When ready to bake, preheat oven to 375 degrees F. With your hands, form a cookie dough ball about 1-1/2 inches in diameter. Push a small indentation in center with your thumb and place an unwrapped caramel. Wrap dough around to enclose. Place on baking stone. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Do not overbake. Allow to cool on baking stone for 2-3 minutes, then remove to cooling rack to cool completely.
Enjoy the chocolatey, caramely, ooey, gooey yumminess!
Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi
….jodijodijodi, you DIDN’T post this!….AND take yummy photos to top it off? How are we supposed to make do with our apples? I’m already thinking, ‘hmmmm…which store sells Milky Way bites?’ You’re terrible!

Oh Lance! LOL! Make dumplings with those apples 🙂 PS If you can’t find the Milky Way Bites, nothing says you can’t “improvise” with chopped up full sized bars – hehehe!

Goodness, this sounds so decadent, I may have to wait for a party to bake them because I would really hate myself for eating the entire batch by myself. 😉

They are quite decadent Teresa! Your plan sounds like a good one. I warn you, however, you are going to make a lot of new friends when you take these to a party! 🙂

I had a chance to taste those wonderfully delicious cookies on Sunday. They were outstanding. Also really enjoyed hearing how you selected your gift. I was in the back and did not get to see the particulars. Thank you. Just have to tell you how much I adore your son Nick. What a polite, courteous, thoughtful young man! What a joy to see him again. Of course Sunday brought several other standouts. Liz, Tony, Matt, Candace, Christi, and CJ. I was the lucky one to be in the presence of these young people. Every single one of them displayed their social graces, social adeptness and treated this “old folk” admirably. Just an assurance to know that we have young people such as these in our world. Job well done parents, job well done.

Oh Susan – I have tears in my eyes. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this, and I know you know the greatest compliment a Momma can hear is one of his “child” even adult child. I am so proud of both of my boys and the amazing men they have turned into. Oh Susan – I am so happy our paths have crossed through Nick and CJ – you are one of my favorite people in the world. I love your heart, your humor, your spirit, your joy. I wish I could have known your sweet hubby. Nick tells me I would have loved him just as much! xoxo

I’m going to have to try this one too. However, I fear this is a novelty cookie that won’t wear off.

Totally sinful and delicious I bet. My favorite Milky Way is the Dark Chocolate version. I only see the mini bites at Halloween though. 😦
I’m behind on reading and responding to posts! I’m trying to catch up.

Thanks for catching up Deborah – these were amazing. They would be equally if not more amazing with the dark chocolate version!!! 🙂
