A Sketch Challenge for The Paper Players

pp268 sketch challenge bloom with hope and timeless elegance dsp

This week’s challenge at The Paper Players is a sketch challenge, so I created this sympathy card for my design team inspiration card.

A little designer series paper from Stampin’ Up’s Timeless Elegance, a little watercoloring on the stamped flower from SU Bloom with Hope, and a cute little bee cut out of English Garden DSP and bedazzled with some Glossy Accents to make it pop and shine!

On the inside, I stamped off the Bloom with Hope flower stamp a few times before stamping in the card to give it a lighter watermarked look and then added the sentiment on top.

Hope my papercrafting friends will join us in The Paper Players sketch challenge  #PP268 this week.  I also have to say the other design team members’ cards are exceptionally amazing this week.  Check out these talented ladies!

  1. I love this design. I’m a novice card-maker so I’m glad to learn your “stamping off” technique on the inside. Thank you for sharing! I think sympathy cards are hard to do but this one is great, Jodi!

  2. What a timeless and classic card, Jodi. All the soft elements are perfect for a sympathy card. Your beautiful stamping and coloring is just lovely and I am in awe of that sweet little bee! Beautiful card, my friend!

  3. Jodi, this is just gorgeous! Always difficult for me to make a sympathy card and this is just classic elegance! Love that big, bold, gorgeous flower! That sweet little, glossy bee is perfect! The black and vanilla is so beautiful together! I know your friend will cherish this thoughtful card! XX

  4. Jodi what an elegant and lovely sympathy card, perfect in black and white with a pop of one color. I missed the bee at first glance, but the close up had me say wow! I thought it was a button or a jewel! I suspect many coats of glossy accents were involved!
