Morning Has Broken

January 2016 Crescent Moon and North Star Break of Dawn

Break of Dawn 1/7/16 – Mars, PA Crescent Moon & North Star

Morning has broken,
like the first morning.
Blackbird has spoken,
like the first bird.
Praise for the singing,
Praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing
fresh from the world!

Cat Stevens

Happy Saturday Morning!

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

  1. My first thought is “wow, so beautiful” and my very next is “great colors here, I wonder if she winds up doing an abstract inspired by this!” Gorgeous, Jodi! That is a terrific song also. It’ll be stuck in my head now but it’s all good. 💛💛💛💛💛💛

    • Oh – to see it in person was so awe-inspiring – these skies have been really taking my breath away lately. I’ve been thinking about them and art – and how I’ve tried to do that photo of yours and then I think…… We can take a photo if we want to see it. I want to think more on how it makes me feel and what it inspires in me. Will be a journey. 🙂

      • Absolutely! You are really getting there, I think that’s the best way to approach an abstract. Start with a feeling, and I don’t think it matters whether the feelings are good or bad. The stronger, the better, and roll! Even better with inspiration like this to ramp up those feelings!

  2. What a treat! My very favorite song to wake up to! I’m sure it will be with me all day. So enjoy your blog. Always something new & interesting. It’s below 0 here so not much birdsong. 😊

    • Oh thanks – and me too Sharon – I haven’t thought of him or his music in a long time – but this break of dawn brought that song to mind and heart and then I played it on youtube and just moved on to all the other goodies – like Moon Shadow – and am on a Cat Stevens roll now 🙂

  4. That is one of my favorite songs. Did you know it was originally a hymn? When I was a teenager I went to a small church that used old hymnals, and that song was in there, with all the verses that Cat Stevens sung, too! Who would have thought?
