Sometimes in the cold and slush,
the starkness and the blustery winds of Winter…
I dream of the warmth and beauty,
the colors and the gentle breezes of Spring.
After a few long, cold, busy wintry days, it was nice to relax and loosen up and dream of blue and purple irises that will bloom in Spring…
and splash paint on paper
bringing them to life
with glimmers of hope
and the promise of renewal.
Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi
This is so beautifully done. The watercolours create a harmonious symphony between themselves and fuse so effortlessly together. :’)
The words are a perfect accompaniment for them.

There is such warmth and freedom in this painting, Jodi! Really love it. Knew it was an Iris instantly and the colors are perfect. Love these because the suggestion is just perfect and the viewer is invited in to fill in the gaps. Really wonderful. 💛💛💛

I love watercolors and Irises! I have one that I brought from the lake 3 years ago! It was a hot day and it was a mess. But, each year it grows taller and I think will it reach the sky hahaha. My mom said her dad, Adolph loved Irises and she is sure he is watching and smiling! This is what your lovely painting reminded me of this morning! xxxx

This is soooo lovely, Jodi! 💜💜💜 Love your looseness in your paintings like this and how you allow the magic of watercolor happen with the colors blend together. Not everyone can do this, including myself! So happy you like it too. 😄

I think I just get lucky sometimes and like it. This is my favorite way to do it, and you know – it is easier to just paint exact – but it doesn’t give me nearly the satisfaction. The beauty and draw of watercolor to me. You don’t always know what is going to happen. It’s kind of like a letting go of control issue. lol!
