Hanging Out: A Charlie Guest Post

Are you looking at me?

What……Don’t you like to roll on your back and chew on sticks in the warm, soft Spring grass?

I LOVE Spring!

I forgot how wonderful it is to hang out in the yard with the birds and squirrels and rabbits and chipmunks and deer.  There is so much going on, I can hardly believe how much time I spent sleeping through winter!

There are so many sticks to chew, so many things to smell and taste and chase.

And there is so much room to ZOOOOOM!  I sometimes just start running – in circles or straight lines – whatever suits my fancy – but I love to RUN…. as fast as I can… and make my ears flap and my eyes squint from the sheer force of the wind!

Running, rolling, smelling, tasting, chewing, zooming…. it’s all in a day’s work – hanging out.  A dog’s life.  My life.  There’s nothing like a dog’s life in Spring.

Jealous?  Sorry!  But don’t be…..take some time to hang out outside yourself… even for a little bit.  I bet you’ll want to thank me.  (doggie wink)

  4. That sounds like so much fun! Just think…you spent the winter dreaming about spring and doing just what you are doing. Enjoying it outside – rolling and running in the grass! Happy Spring to you, Charlie!! Dog kisses from Bria!

  6. When I see Scooter doing that, I know he is rolling in the remains of road-kill. Yesterday, he rolled in a skunk. I could smell him running across the yard, long before I spotted him.

    Someone got a bath yesterday.

  15. SO sweet of you Charlie 🐶Here in MN we are still waiting for a good warm sunny days, it’s still in 34-40! I wish i could come to your place and enjoy with you 😀

  18. I am glad to see that you are enjoying yourself so well since your dear Mom is obviously enjoying herself very well on vacation! So live it up with the sticks and the Zooming and maybe she will bring you a special treat back 🙂

  21. Awesome Charlie, you’ve got the good life. There was a big fluffy brown rabbit sleeping under one if our front yard trees today. He was pretty tame to, we were a meter away and he wasn’t scared. But when we went to take a picture, he jumped away 😦 I’m sure you try to catch many rabbits and have the same issue.
