And the Mountains Echoed

mountains echo

I have begun reading a beautiful book….

It is called “And the Mountains Echoed” by Khaled Hosseini.

It is a tale exploring the many ways in which families nurture, wound, betray, honor, and sacrifice for one another; and how often we are surprised by the actions of those closest to us, at the times that matter most.

The cover of the book is so beautiful, I decided to try a quick watercolor of it, so this is today’s #WorldWatercolorMonth Painting.

Has anyone else read it?

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

  1. I’ve not read it but I’ve heard good things about it. I agree with Kerfe, your figures in this are really nice, Jodi. This is part of a series, right? Or maybe not but the author has written other books too. Someone said they tend to be depressing, which is what’s kept me away from them for many years lol. Nice to hear you’re enjoying it tho.

  2. Love your watercolor Jodi. My husband read this book and we talked about it extensively. He was very moved by it. I loved “The Kite Runner” but haven’t read this one yet. Perhaps I will make a stop at the bookstore….

  3. Oh Jodi! Jodi! Jodi! Seeing your title alone and your painting made me tear up. I have read the book and Kite Runner too and A Thousand Splendid Suns too. They are all MUST reads. They are not a series and I’m sure you will cherish every story. ❤
