“Don’t think about making art, just get it done.
Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”– Andy Warhol

Thanks so much pj! I really enjoyed doing this one. Looked at a photo and did not draw a single line. Went straight to paint. Started with the eyes and the rest just loosely followed. 😊. I so appreciate your support. ❤🐱

That is wonderful that you didn’t need to draw it in first! That means you are an artist!

Jodi, Two of my very favorite blogs had posts right next to each other in this morning’s reader. Jane wrote about your illustration with her musing on cats! https://luluopolis.com/2017/01/13/uncomplicated-cats/comment-page-1/#comment-2362
There is such depth and meaning in that kitty’s eyes…

How fun is that!!! I really enjoyed painting this cat – by starting with the eyes – directly with paint – no drawing – and just painting what I felt in a photo I looked at. I’m so glad you enjoyed and appreciated. Hoping to post your cookies Sunday! 🙂 Oh how we are enjoying them!

You make me smile, Jodi! What a fun reversal–after having enjoyed dozens (if not more) of your recipes…and knowing I will enjoy many, many more in the future…

Have you ever put a painting aside for a while and thought ugh, I don’t like it at all, then go back after a week or so and like it with fresh eyes? I love your kitty!

absolutely! I felt that way about my recent wintry landscape. I finished it and almost tossed it out. Then later that day, I looked it and thought – hmmm – not bad really. I think that happens a lot with watercolor as it often takes time to “develop”
