Lesson from a Cardinal.
You stand out so bright and beautiful and bold.
Do you realize the joy you bring to the cold?
You teach us life lessons without even trying.
May we be bright lights without even trying.
Help us to see
how easy it can be.
Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi
So lovely.

Was this taken the other day? All that ice was beautiful and the contrast with the Cardinals does make me stop complaining about the weather.

Yep – it sure was – just two days ago. The cardinals are all over our backyard and stand out so much right now. I even shot this photo through the glass of the kitchen window!

Another amazing photo Jodi! I’ve been hearing cardinals, but no sightings. I’ll superimpose this on the view out my window. (K)

I have some living in my yard too. Like heartandsoul974 commented, I’ve heard they are visitors who’ve passed. When I see mine, I always say “hi Mom!” or “hi Dad!” or whomever else pops into my mind. They’re such happy looking birds – they make me remember with a smile rather than a tear. 🙂

Beautiful photo, Jodi! They say “when a cardinal appears, an angel is near”. I was told this right after my mom passed, and now I think of and say “hi Mom!” every time I see one. Is it silly? Maybe. But to me, I find it comforting. 🙂 May you have a yardful of angels visiting! ❤

What a great photo! How did you get the colors to be so vibrant? And I love the poem, too. We have several cardinals who hang out in the bush outside our dining room window, and seeing them there cheers me up no end!

Thanks Ann – a little editing, but they are so bright and striking this time of year it just blows me away! They seem extra bright and beautiful right now. Is it the surrounding nature being dull or are they extra red right now?

My guess would be a little bit of both!
