Just Do it Anyway

Just Do it Anyway!

It might be scary.
It is probably risky.

What if someone is watching,
and it turns out to be a flop?

What if people laugh?
What if they say, “I told you so.”

There’s a pretty huge chance it won’t work out.
But guess what?  That’s the point!

Be brave!
Just Do it Anyway!

This is a mantra I am trying to reiterate to myself.  I am taking on new experiences, new challenges, new risks – with my art, writing, self-development….

It might turn out to be a great big flop, but I’ll never know if I don’t just do it anyway!

Is there something you’ve always wanted to do?  Pick up a paint brush?  Write a book?  Travel to a faraway place?  Learn a new skill?  Begin a new relationship?  Record a song?  Learn to fly?  Heck – maybe it’s even just a new hairdo?

It might not turn out……..

But then it might?

If you don’t just do it anyway, how will you ever know?

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

  1. Your post today kind of goes perfectly with what I am trying to do this morning . Doing something new, that I don’t have a lot of expertise in and it’s kind of scary and not sure if people will like it or laugh at me….Blogging! But you know….I am going to do it anyways. I’ll take my chances.

  2. Go for it Jodi! I am a great believer in the “Just do it!” and positive outlook philosophy.
What if it does not work? = Well what if it does work?
I might not be very good = I might be very good
The basic question I use a lot is “What have I got to lose?”. If the worst case scenario is that nothing really changes, then why hesitate? 🙂

  3. While failure may be humiliating and wound one’s self esteem, it will pass. In the words of Henry Ford: “Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.” You will only succeed if you give it a try, you will never know if you never try. Be open to the possibilities instead of missing an opportunity. Keep your eyes open and just jump!

  4. Great post Jodi!! Perfect timing as well! Yesterday I did ” take the jump!” We will see what happens, but like you said, if you never “jump”, you never know what wonderful thing you may have dived into! Thanks for the encouraging post and I always love seeing penguins! 🙂 <3!

  5. Love this! That photo of the penguin and your words would make a terrific motivational poster. Far too often, we allow our fear of failure (especially when others can see) to stop us from trying something risky and new. I’m so glad you’re “spreading your wings” and venturing into new areas. Keep moving forward, Jodi! It will inspire the rest of us to do the same!

    • It is hard! I like to be a winner. I like to be the best! But to get there, you have to stretch and take chances. And deal with rejection sometimes. If we don’t take a chance and go for it, we might never know. Thanks for the support and encouragement! 🙂
