Getting Cozy

Getting Cozy.

Getting out the pumpkins.
Getting out the candles.

Getting ready for colorful leaves
Getting ready for crackling fires.

Getting ready for flannels and hoodies.
Getting ready for fleece.

Getting ready for pumpkin lattes.
Getting ready for baked apple everything.

Getting ready for simmering soups.
Getting ready for thick, hearty stews.

Getting ready for Fall.
Getting cozy!

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

  1. Your post is very timely Jodi because here in the UK autumn is setting in very fast indeed! It’s turned distinctly cool and damp. The trees are turning colour rapidly and leaves are dropping like mad… I’m seriously thinking of putting the heating on…. !!

  2. You make me feel cozy with your poem! My nephew’s wife made Pumpkin Chili last night with Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate and for dessert Apple Pie. She said how they have embraced Fall. πŸ™‚ I told her I would be over for supper. LOL!

    • Welcome to America Kaddy! Hope you enjoy your time here! What city/state are you staying in? We have such a vast difference in cultures and geography and people all across the U.S. So exciting for you!

  3. Love the photo and love your fall-abulous post! I’ve always loved Autumn the best of any season. I’ve heard it said that it makes people sad and depressed, it positively exhilarates me! The falling of colorful leaves raked into piles to jump in, apple picking, hay rides, cornstalks and bales of hay. Trips to the pumpkin patch to choose from all the different sizes, colors and shapes…I never met a pumpkin/gourd that I didn’t love! And, don’t even let me get started on Halloween!! Getting cozy, I’ll lift my pumpkin spice latte to that! Thank-you, dear Jodi!

    • I used to be one of the people Ellen – who hated Autumn. It reminded me of back to school time for the kids and winter coming. When I was a young mom – I was a stay-at-home mom, and I hated when the kids went back to school. I loved having them home. lol! But I am really learning to LOVE the season. So many wonderful things to enjoy about it without associating it with things I don’t enjoy so much. So that is my focus now! Cheers to Pumpkin time!

  4. Hi Jodi, Nice post. Can’t believe Autumn is approaching us. Can’t believe that the Holidays will not be far behind. I will admit that this year’s holidays will be a lot tougher for me, but I will make he best of it and try to spend quality time with family. Love Gary

    • Yes Gary. The many firsts you will experience in the coming year will be difficult. Don’t be too hard on yourself if you feel down. It is ok. Grief is a very individual thing and something you must go through. It is because you loved much that the grief is great. Hugs.

  5. Loved, loved your poem. So excited now too. Spent all day cozying up to fireplace and mac and cheese. Our temps have cooled, winds picked up and cloudy skies, rain forecast tommorrow. What is really getting me excited is the part in your poem about simmering soups and thick hearty stews. Cant wait for your recipes! And I’ve never had a pumpkin latte, will have to get me one of those. Beautiful job getting us all excited for spooky pumkins and cozy times. Blessings!

    • With a headcold today hunkering down, but it is 85 degrees out again! Summer heat back for a while, but it still sounds and smells like Autumn. I’ll be pumkining up! πŸ™‚
