Crossroads.
When we arrive at a crossroads,
it is an opportunity to let go of the past
and who we have been.
Which way will we go?
Who will we decide
we want to become?
This recent acrylic abstract painting I created is called Crossroads.
Lately, I am driven towards abstraction and experimenting with acrylics.
It is fun to try something new…
An opportunity to discover who I want to be.
And my art is helping me find me…
the direction I want to go
at a crossroads of life.
Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

Love this abstract art Jodi. This one in particular is very interesting and I love the title that you have given it. I can definitely relate to the crossroads in ones life especially over this past year. I think all people at some point go thru this transition and must consider which direction they want to go when reaching these crossroads. At times even when we least expect it (because of unforeseen events that occur within our lives) we might meet this crossroads once again and I think most folks come ac cross these crossroads many times in their life. These crossroads help us to develop who we are and how we will make our imprint while on this earth. Luv Gary

Lovely vibrant abstract art Jodi – have you ever tried oil painting? It is a whole different ball game to watercolour and acrylics but judging by your abstract style of acrylic painting above, I think you might be very good at it…
Oil painting is on my “to do” list and I have a set of oil paints ready to go but I’m not ready to do it yet…

I see swans both black and white (black swans were my father’s favourite birds) on and reflected in a fiery water …. the abstract mixing the elements quite beautifully. My crossroads is passed for now. I picked my direction. I believe it is bringing me home x

Whenever I hear the word crossroads, my mind immediately goes to the last verse of Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken…”Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.” Sometimes the paths presented are neither simply right or wrong, just different. It seems to be relevant to where you are finding yourself to be in your life right now. Your beautiful art is the expression of your heart and mind, your thoughts you have expressed eloquently. It is truly a gift to share in your journey through your painting and words. Thank-you!

As much as I love your loose Jodi-style watercolors, I do believe you’ve crossed the crossroads with abstract acrylics! This could hang in a museum!

Stunning Jody! Wow just amazing! Are you using acrylics with thickening medium? Or oils? Either way I love it, I love texture in a painting, when you want to reach out and touch it. This is so wonderful.,from your art course? Keep up the great work. You’re so talented. 💕🙏🏻🎈

I find it interesting what people think and say about a “crossroad” in life, or a change, or a new beginning… What I feel is that it is not an either or choice we make, to leave who we once were or once did, to take on a new self or a completely different perspective. Often, a crossroad simply means that we are expanding who we are, exploring new facets of the gem that lies within. Our core remains. Instead of thinking either or, one should think of “addition”, Our friends recognize us, but with a new sparkle! We still recognize ourselves, but with different eyes. Love you, Jodi, in all your manifestations.

Such a great point Marguerite!!! Mine is more definitive in that it is in regards to a career change…. a corporate restructure… position elimination… and need to start over on that path in life. But you are right. It all adds to who we really are 🙂 ❤

Stunning Jodi! Is there anything that you can’t do? I love love love your painting! Do more ! This is spectactulur! Your balance is perfect! It has direction! It firmly planted & at the same tim going somewhwere. I know that sounds contradictory but it’s like the tango. Based on a solid foundation with determined movement, but suprising twist that are romantic & flurished & Wild! You may have found a new medium. I love it, its totally Alive, & Textured and Full of COLOR. ! I see Notes musical notes, I’m sure there is a symphony bursting in there. Really Beautiful piece. Very confident looking. Very professional. WOW for me!
