You May Hear Me Being Called…  A Charlie Guest Post

My mom calls me “Char.”
My niece calls me “E!”
My brothers call me “Chuck.”
My dad calls me “Buddy.”

But at different times,
and in different circumstances,
you may hear me being called….

“Bed Hog” in the middle of the night.
“Mooch” when someone is eating.
“Bad” when I steal food from the table while nobody is looking.
“Pest” when I want breakfast at 6am on Sunday mornings.
“Good Boy” when I allow my niece to take a bone from my mouth.
“Silly” when I chase my own tail.
“Noisy” when I want to play with my squeaky donut while Dad is still sleeping.
“Stinky” when I roll in something wonderful in the yard.

It’s a wonder I even know my name – huh?

You really can call me anything you want,
but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
don’t
ever
call me
late
for dinner!

Woofs & Wags,
Charlie

  1. Somehow, dear Charlie, I doubt that you need to be called for dinner…you are probably already waiting right next to your dish! After reading your post to Benjamin, he says : “Charlie, you have some baditudes and lots of gooditudes.” These are his newest favorite words. I asked what would he call you and his response is “My friend!” We always love to hear from you. Thank-you x 2!!

      • One must give proper credit where it is due and so I shall. Benjamin and I read the word “baditude” on a Backyard Bird Nerd post last week. Benjamin fell in love with the word and added “gooditude”. He has used these two words endlessly and I must admit that I like them too!

  3. You do know you write as well as your mom, don’t you? And no worries, she will never call you late for dinner!
I think all “kids”, whether two-legged or four-legged, get called all kinds of names, depending on what is going on at the time. Later in your life, you’ll add “old dog” to the list, which is what we sometimes call our Lucy! But don’t worry about that, because it’s actually an honor to be called an old dog. It means you lived a good long life!
