Happy Father’s Day

Father and Daughter and Red Balloon Watercolor 11×14

Happy Father’s Day.

Happy Father’s Day to my Dad.
So glad we have the opportunity to make up for lost time.

Happy Father’s Day to my Hubby.
Sharing parenthood with you has been one of my life’s greatest joys.

Happy Father’s Day to my Son.
Watching you be a dad melts my heart.

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

I painted this watercolor to create a card for my Dad for Father’s Day.  I wanted to create a feeling with art that represents a bond that can’t be broken.  The bond between a father and daughter.  A representation of the feeling of being Daddy’s little girl – no matter age or time.  Love you Dad. xoxox

  1. “Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a Dad.” – Anne Geddes. I have always been somewhat surprised that the official Father’s Day was not signed into law until 1972. We can thank Richard Nixon for finally completing what Woodrow Wilson started in 1916, Calvin Coolidge failed at in 1924, and Lyndon Johnson proclaimed in 1966. Considering that Mother’s Day became an official holiday in 1914 by Woodrow Wilson…it seems a bit overdue. You are blessed to have your Father’s presence in your life, a husband that exemplifies fatherhood at its best, a son that continues in his footsteps and another son that may well do the same. Your precious and beautiful watercolor reminds me of many happy times as a Daddy’s girl. Thank-you!
