A Caterpillar Named Clara.
There once was a colorful caterpillar whose name was Clara.
She had lashes so long, she did not need mascara.
When playing with Grandma – who called her Clara Beara,
she would often play dress up and wear a tiara.
They pretended she was a princess who lived in the Sahara
or perhaps even on the French Riviera.
Her most favorite dinner was spaghetti carbonara,
which she smothered in ladles of rich marinara.
Her Daddy loved to cook, so he would prepara,
and he put a bib on her, so she wouldn’t a weara.
But a bath always followed with Mommy washing her haira
and lathering her skin with soothing aloe vera.
So into bed at night went a fresh clean Clara
to dream of spaghetti and princesses and tiaras.
Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi
so, so cute. she looks like you

Lovely and bright. She’s such a cute catapillar, and your rhyming poem, beneath suites her well. Those are some hard ones to rhyme or do alliteration/assonance. Way to go.

This Caterpillar named Clara has a certain flaira, on that Benjamin and I agree! He loved the rhyming words in this poem and laughed at each line. He said : “Clara is a cutie and so many pretty colors too.” After a minute or two he added : “Maybe she should be on the cover of My Jodi’s new book. Or, she could put all of them on the cover so she doesn’t have to make anybody sad.” Benjamin the diplomat! Thank-you x 2!!

Oh my goodness – what a sweetheart he is – worrying about making one of them sad who is not on the cover. Reminds me of my youngest son when he was little. His bed was filled with his stuffed animals when he slept, because he looked into their eyes and knew they would be sad if any were left out. 🙂 ❤ I have a plan for who will be the "lucky" winner to grace the cover of the next book… At least I think… Do you catch the hint??? 🙂
