There is Always Something to Smile About.
It was REALLY hard getting up for work on Monday!
In our part of the world, we started Daylight Savings Time and lost an hour of sleep Sunday morning when we had to turn the clocks forward.
Since I didn’t have to wake up at any certain time on Sunday, it was not a problem.
But when the alarm went off at 5 am on Monday, I said, “What the whaaaat?!?!”
I skipped my morning treadmill routine and went back to sleep until 6 am.
Still didn’t want to get up…. but I did.
The upside to this crazy ritual is that it now stays light later, and Charlie and I were able to walk outside after work.
When Charlie and I go for a walk, we almost always take the same route, so I make it a point to always try to see something new.
It was on our way back that I spied a smiley face painted on this old tree stump that has obviously been there a while.
This was the first time I saw it.
And I smiled.
There is always something to smile about!
Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

There really is so much to smile about! I always dread the time change but it is nice to seem to have longer daylight. I hope your week is going great, Jodi!

Yes! You have such a positive attitude PJ! 🙂 Did you stop writing?

Yes, I quit writing. I closed down my flash fiction challenge. InLinkz doubled the price of their membership and I wasn’t going to pay it so I closed it down.

We too suffer from the change into daylight saving time. It was once a war time measure to save electricity, but why now? But after a few day we all will enjoy the extra long evenings. Have a great day, Jodi!

Right! But I still had a terrible time getting up this morning. I’m smiling now though 🙂

Looking at the time change in a positive light, so to speak. Not bad, Jodi, not bad. By simply taking it all in while you and Charlie were on your walk you really did find something to smile about. I love it. :O)

I don’t blame you, so are we. Hope we don’t have to endure this time changing thing all that much longer although I expect we might. . :O)

You’re right – there is always something to smile about! It’s just that sometimes we might have to look a little harder for it…. Treadmill routine at 5 am…. ???

Yes. I’m trying for a half hour first thing in the morning before work. Have been good for a month until this time change. 😬

Jodi, I swear only you would see the beauty in that stump, it looks like a monster to me 😂 Yes, I’m hating the dark mornings, I think it’s time to rethink DST!

This tree stump appears quite similar to the one in my backyard that holds the sad melting remnants of Benjamin’s only Snowman built this year, “Mini”. Due to illness, both his and mine, we could not make use of the last two snowfalls, the best of this seasons and most likely the last. I love the smile on this one and Benjamin will too! “Smile, it is the key that fits the lock of everybody’s heart.” – Anthony D’Angelo. Thank-you x 2!!

I’m sorry to hear illness kept you and Benjamin from playing in the snow, but I know you surely comforted and cared for and loved each other inside and brought each other lots of smiles. Love to you both! ❤ ❤

I skipped my exercise to sleep later the last two mornings too. But tomorrow I’m going to get up when the alarm goes off…
What a wonderful find! It made me smile too. (K)

Great treasure to find. Keep smiling. California has voted on eliminating Turning the clock again. We just want to leave it here. No more fall back.

So cute! There is a stump on one of our hiking trails that is low and perfectly heart shaped. We started calling it the Heart Stump park. It’s fun to go there and see if we can find it each time 🙌

Isn’t it fun how we can always find something good and something to smile about, in almost any situation? We just have to be open to seeing it!
