I Went Far, and I Came Home

Flox in the Morning Sunshine on my Walk – Mars (Pittsburgh), PA – May, 2019

I went far,
and I came home.

And I realize
I am experiencing

the same sun
and the same earth,

the same sky
and the same air.

And the world
feels more like home.

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

  1. Judging by this beautiful photo that must have been a delightful walk. Phlox is a flowering plant that grew wild all over the fields at my Gram’s farm. It has been many, many years since I’ve actually seen them. Your lovely words remind me of a quote often attributed to F. Scott Fitzgerald from his 1920’s short story titled “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”. “It’s a funny thing coming home. Nothing changes. Everything looks the same, feels the same, even smells the same. You realize what’s changed is you.” – Benjamin Button. The quote is actually by Eric Roth, the writer of the screenplay for the 2008 film that starred Brad Pitt as Benjamin Button. So glad that your feet found there way home back home, right where your heart can also be found. Thank-you!

    • Oh Ellen! You have such a way with words that always warms my heart! You should be a writer you know! 😉. I love that quote! And I really liked that movie too! Yes. This phlox is all along the fields and roadside on my walk ☺️❤️. Happy Memorial Day Monday!

  2. You’re amazing! When I take a photo with telephone lines, it seems my photo is ruined, but when YOU take a similar photo, the telephone lines are beautiful leading lines into the horizon! You have an excellent creative eye!
