Orange you Glad-iolus?
My Dad recently texted me an image of an orange gladiolus stem in a vase a neighbor had placed on their porch.
He thought it might make a good painting subject.
So I painted it.
And this is my loose “impressionistic” version.
I hope it makes him and Mom II smile.

Thanks but save that wish! They called me at 5:30am today and said how Dr had a family emergency in the middle of the night so all his surgeries were cancelled today. New time is next Thursday the 25th now. 🙂

This one hit me immediately.
More often than not if I like something of my own I like it quickly. If I don’t like it, I usually ‘wake up’ liking it even less. If that makes sense.

Oooh, you caught the fragile flower petals and the hearty stalk of the Glads….this brings back memories of my mom and I going to a glad farm once a week to purchase flowers for the cemetery. Every week from Spring through Fall, and glads were my favorites in the summer months!

Thanks Jill! I really was so unsure of it at first because it was so easy and organic. Does that ever happen to you? Actually is such a good feeling that it turned out! Surprises me really LOL. ☺️🤣👍

Hi Jodi, yes, happens to me A LOT! Like my weird birds each week… I think they aren’t that great and then YOU or others really like them… I find watercolor or painting sometimes really flows and it is EASY. Doesn’t happen very often to me though with painting. Lol! 😃
