Reflections of Serenity

Reflections of Serenity 8×10 Watercolor

Reflections of Serenity.

Listening to Simon & Garfunkel
“Bridge Over Troubled Water” on repeat.

Feeling blessed with peace.
Feeling sad for those suffering.

Thinking of a sweet little girl, Eva Love,
in a coma with a traumatic brain injury from a freak fall from a golf cart.

Thinking of a blogging friend who left this world
two years ago Sunday – way too soon.

Realizing how precious life is.

Feeling blessed by a random phone call
from my 2-1/2 year old grandie girl.

Relaxing at home with the man
who saved me so many years ago.

Ramblings from a happy, imperfect, content
girl/woman/wife/mom/grandma/friend/lover of life.

Reflections of Serenity
painted with love.

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

Written Sunday evening.

  1. Jodi,
Such a wonderful and serene creation Jodi accompanied by your beautiful thoughts and reflections
It means so much to me that you have mentioned remembrances of Terry’s passing 2 years ago as part of your inspiration in creating this painting today.
    So touching.
    Love, Gary

    • Oh I miss him so much! I know nothing compared to you, but I want you to know I do as well. He really was one of the very very special people in this world! Those of us who knew him were surely blessed! Loving so means missing so too! Sending hugs and love!

  2. It seems that many times it is difficult to achieve serenity amidst the turmoil of life in today’s world. You have found beautiful ways through your lovely art and your inspiring words. How fortunate am I to receive your gifts that provide serenity just when I need it the most! “Serenity is not freedom from the storm; but peace amid the storm.” – S A Jefferson-Wright. Thank-you!

  3. Hi Jodi, your painting is beautiful and serene! Amazing how what we FEEL can be shared through a painting. Sorry to hear of the tragic accident of your little friend and your loss of a blogging friend. Hugs! 😘💕

  4. The painting portrays serenity so well, mixed in with a little bit of sadness…at least to me. And I think you are right in that life is a combination of things to be thankful for and things that bring sorrow. Accepting that both will always be with us helps us achieve serenity, I think. Especially if it is always combined with true compassion for those who are grieving and/or suffering.

  5. Beautiful Jodi!! I would love for you to do a watercolor tutorial for us. Even just a photo of the steps to create a project. Just once a month….that would be awesome! Please consider, I love your work!

    • You flatter me so! Thank you Tami! I am so nervous to do such a thing as a video. I always lack the confidence the painting will turn out. Because often they don’t! I will try to remember to take “steps” photos though and try to post one a month or so. Thanks for the idea and the interest!
