A Bright Spot in the Storm.

Need we really look
any further

than out the window
amidst a storm

when searching
for a bright spot?

Nature’s examples
teach us

there is always a bright spot
amidst a storm.

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

Bright red male cardinals fill my backyard in the winter and seem even more vibrant when the snow is swirling and blowing and the tree branches are bare.  Such a bright spot in my day.

On this Road called Life

Early November Morning Walk after the Storm – thecreativelifeinbetween.com

On this Road called Life.

There will be ups and downs…
There will be twists and turns.

There will be sunshine and rain…
There will be seasons of change.

But straight roads
don’t make skillful drivers.

And flowers can’t grow
on smoothly paved roads.

This road called life
is your path to choose.

And if you don’t like the one you are traveling on….
pave a new.

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

We had an unseasonably strong thunderstorm this past Saturday night, but Sunday morning brought shiny, clean beauty on my morning walk with Charlie that was made even sweeter by the extra hour of sleep gifted from “Falling Back” from Daylight Savings to Eastern Standard Time and the gorgeous colors of Autumn leaves.

Rainy Sundays

Rainy Spring Sunday Rhododendron Blossom – 5/22/16

Rainy days

cancelled plans
messy beds
messier hair
muddy paws
dampened feathers
thunder cracking

steaming coffee
comfy jammies
old movies
new books
paint splashing
afternoon naps

nourishing the plants
feeding the streams
brightening the green
slowing us down
refueling our engines
washing the world clean

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

Weathering the Storm

Winter snowy gold finch

Hang on…

or fly free?

Either way –

You can weather the storm!

Cheers & Hugs,

Jodi

After the storm…

hanging basket flowers after the rain

The showers beat down,
the wind blows strong.
We drip and wilt –
all tousled about.

But afterwards…

we are refreshed
and renewed.
We are given new life.
We are nourished and vibrant and ready to grow.

Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi
