Around the bend…
on the other side of the bridge.
Along the edge of the road…
after the rain.
Before the “main event”…
in simple places.
In between the drops of rain…
when the sunshine peeks.
Look closely…
and pay attention.

This photo was taken on the property of a country wedding we attended this past weekend. It was a several-hour, stay-overnight kind of trip to a remote place that was full of happy, special, loving surprises.

I feel like over the years this is something God has challenged me to embrace – to live with a spirit of expectancy (not specific expectations) and let Him surprise me. 🙂

Benjamin is beyond ecstatic seeing a “My Jodi” email this morning! I read the post to him and then he looked closely at the beautiful photo. He spotted the Dandelions among the Tulips : “They are hiding! Dandelions are the bestest surprise, right Gem?!” Dandelions are his favorite flower, quite abundant in my backyard. He also liked the “little house over the road”. I told him all about covered bridges and that there were several where I grew up as a little girl in Pennsylvania. We were not expecting to see you this morning…the perfect surprise! Thank-you x 2!!

❤️. In this photo was taken in Pennsylvania. 😉. Please tell Benjamin that dandelions are my granddaughter’s favorite flower as well. She likes to pick them for us. They are also Charley’s favorite flower. But he likes to eat them. 🤪

What a beautiful place that looks … I’m an absolute sucker for a covered bridge (never quite got over Madison County) and your photo is exquisite. But even more so are your words. So so true …. expect the unexpected and don’t be afraid of what that might be then we can really and truly embrace this wonderful life we are given.
