Celebrate Today

PP238 CYCI64
It’s Friday!  Reason enough to celebrate – eh?

PP238 CYCI64 2

The card I am sharing today, however, is in celebration of a special couple’s anniversary:  my Dad and “Mom II” Carole.

It is such a joy to celebrate their happiness.  They are such great role models of a truly caring, loving married relationship.

Though my biological parents divorced when I was young,  I am happy for both of them that they have found loving, lasting marriages on Round 2.

(And for those of you that weren’t around when I was a new blogger close to a year ago,  I’d love to share one of my favorite posts with you from back in July of last year to read the story of my reunion with my Dad.)

So Dad and Carole, I join you in celebrating your upcoming special day.  I thank you for your love and example.  And most of all, I love you dearly.  Celebrate YOU!

For my cardmaking friends, I am submitting this card for two of my favorite card challenges:  The Paper Players, which is hosting a Die Cut Challenge this week, and Can You Case It, which is hosting a color challenge this week.

And here are the “Ingredients” for my card:

StampinUp’s Crazy About You Stamp Set for the flowers and leaves
StampinUp’s Perfectly Penned Stamp Set for the sentiment
Lil’ Inker Designs Stitched Mat Rectangles for the Die Cut stitches and cut out rectangles
SU Whisper White, Black, and Crisp Cantaloupe Card Stock
Inks:  Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistsachio Pudding, Memento Black
Boho Blossoms Punch
Wink of Stella Clear Brush

Celebrate today and EVERY day – at Life in Between.

Cheers & Happy Friday Hugs,

  1. Great card and OH MY Gosh, you got me choked up first thing this morning! I remember you talking about how you would share the story of your birth father but for some reason I missed seeing it when you posted it! It is beautiful Jodi!!! So happy for the 2 of you! How Awesome to have been reunited and able to share your love for each other now! That book looks and sounds lovely, I am sure he cried when he looked at it and that song is perfect. So glad your little girls heart found what she was longing for, that you had a caring husband who saw what you needed. HUGS to you my friend! Thanks so much for sharing a personal part of your life!

    • Thank you JR! It is one of my favorite posts – and favorite stories – for that matter! 🙂 Thank you for indulging me and sharing your sweet sweet comments! xx

      • I must have known such a sentimental post was coming, for I dreamed of you last night! I was at your house and you were being the perfect hostess 🙂 You were in a long green dress with white buttons 🙂 Do you have a dress like that? LOL! Just another sign that someday I will be at your house.

      • Awh! 🙂 How cute! I don’t have a long green dress, but I would love one LOL! I like to wear turquoise 🙂 I must get one for your future visit! xx

  2. Jodi, as always, your work is beautiful! I love the die-cut window onto the inside of this card. The colors are gorgeous and I know the special couple will appreciate such a heartfelt card! So glad to see you in the gallery this week at The Paper Players!

  3. A very touching story about reuniting with your birth dad again. You are so very lucky to have 2 dads that love you. ❤️ And a lovely card you created for them! I really like the writing. Was this a stamp?

    • Thanks Jill! I’m glad you enjoyed it, and yes, the sentiment on the card is a stamp. Stampinup “Perfectly Penned.” One day maybe I’ll be able to freehand beautifully, but I love stamps to help. 🙂

    • Awh! Thanks Tina! It is one of my favorite stories 🙂 I think I cried for about 6 months every time I told it in the beginning. Now I smile – it is going on 5 years! I can’t believe how that time flew!

I love hearing from you - hope you'll drop me a line
