You are a late bloomer,
and I worry every year
if you will make it through
and blossom and bloom.
Such a welcome site
on brittle branches,
your fragile flowers
make their appearance again.
Welcome Spring
from the Old Dogwood Tree.
Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi
Gorgeous photograph, poignant and beautiful verse. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful photo, Jodi! Beautiful old trees are wonderful! We don’t have dogwoods in the southwest. Your poem is beautiful, too!

Thanks PJ. Hubby talks every year of cutting them down. Says they are dying. So I get excited when they bloom.

I would be excited to see them bloom each year too! It would be so sad to cut down a living tree.

I first read this in my email and didn’t see the photo of the bird. Beautiful bird photo too!

When I read your post from my email, I saw one picture – the dogwood flower. When I read your post from my reader, there was another picture attached – a yellow bird. Was that not your picture? It was attached to your post.

Hmmm. I took a goldfinch pic yesterday that I was going to share this week but I didn’t think I attached and it doesn’t show up on mine. Dang!

It could be a glitch with WordPress. I didn’t see it attached on the email post only on the Reader.

That’s a great photo, Jodi. Do I feel a watercolor coming on in the coming days?..:) That would be cool.

I have been enjoying the dogwoods in our neighborhood on my walks. There is a really pretty one with peach colored blossoms on it. I like the colors in yours too! Old trees are the best trees! I agree! 💕😊 Enjoyed your photo as well as your verse today, Jodi! 🌈

that sounds so pretty Jill! We have pink and white, but I don’t believe I’ve ever seen peach.
