Released from the Soul.
Sometimes…
Art is just feeling.
And no explanation is needed.
There is such a freedom
in simply creating
feeling.
No concern
of whether
someone else
will like…
will understand…
will appreciate…
But such emotion is expelled.
It is like an untold,
secret story
that is released from the soul.
Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi
Oh yes, you explained it so well! “Releasing from the soul!”
And I do love the shade of blue in this painting.

Art speaks to each of us in different ways, and sometimes the same. When I opened this post and looked at the painting, before reading the words…along the right side I saw the form of my unborn child of 42 yrs. ago. As the tears are sliding down my face, Benjamin came in and climbed up on my lap to look at the picture. “Don’t be sad,Gem, look at the baby” he said while pointing to the same spot. Then, as I read your words, it is indeed – an untold, secret story that is released from the soul! Thank-you for this most beautiful of gifts from your soul.

Oh, my heart…I was coming back to add that I just realized that today is All Souls Day! I don’t know if that has any meaning to you, it certainly does for me. I truly believe that his soul reached to me from Heaven through your painting. Thank-you, dear Jodi, from my heart!

Back one more time to share something that I just read from Harvey MacKay’s newsletter. Although, I’ve never been business related in any way, this man inspires me immensely with his wisdom. If you have the time…please go to mail@harveymackay.com and read today’s “Kids Teach Us Great Lessons”. I think that you will enjoy his thinking too!

what a great post he wrote. So true about kids. We all need to be more childlike! Especially like the lessons the little boy taught his dad about being “poor!” 🙂 ❤

Beautifully! At first I saw a city in the clouds followed by a church and steeple set in a futuristic place in the clouds. Art makes us see and feel so many things. Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely! it is feeling and it is your own and regardless of what other people think or feel about it, no matter! Of course, I often fall into that rabbit hole of worrying about what others think. Thank you for this reminder.

Oh, Jodi, this is AMAZING!! WOWZA!! 💙🎨👍 Creating art helps me release feelings too – I really believe it has helped me the most in my life. And thank you for reminding me that others don’t have to like it or understand it… 🎨👍

It’s hard – many of us want our art to be liked – we want to be liked – I do – I know it – I wish I didn’t feel that way – bit it’s the truth – but I am trying to let go of that. Gotta work on it every day. 🙂

Absolutely Gorgeous Jodi as Dee creative expression and as a modern art type painting. I think you should have an art show. That would be so cool and think your paintings are that good. Water color is so hard to get right (in my opinion) and you have so much flourish and talent at it.
Beautiful poem and painting 🙂

I like the colours you have used here, Jodi. I thought at first it was just an abstract, but no… there’s a bearded gentleman in a blue robe shining a light on someone or something. Yes, I really like it.

Tom – I hope that you will forgive my commenting on your comment, but, you have just delightfully proved my comment that art speaks to each of us in different ways. I see my lost baby and you see a bearded gentleman. Isn’t art a marvelous gift?

Hi Ellen! No worries! I love how we see things differently. What you see has a deeper and more special meaning than what I see, my ‘meaning’ will hopefully become clearer to me over the next few days.
And yes… art is marvellous.

Over and over all day long, I have been drawn back to this painting. As I am sitting in bed reading a novel, my tumultuous thoughts keep returning here. Suddenly, out of the great beyond comes this question that begs an answer. So, once again, I return to pose this question to you. What, dear Jodi, did YOU see in your painting upon completion? Or, was it simply the release of emotion on paper that was not meant to portray anything in particular and yet, everything? I’m not sure why it matters, but it seems that it does. P.S. FYI…your art and yourself are not just liked, but also LOVED!!

Oh Dear Ellen – it might take you hopping on a plan and visiting Mars and us sharing a bottle of wine to tell you all the emotions I feel when looking at this afterwards. I totally see your sweet baby, but I also see a child (me) who had to let so much out, had to give up so much, had to let go of so much, to become who I am.
I write and share to encourage others, but please know I am also “encouraging” myself along the way.
It is a journey of self-discovery that I get to share here. And I am so blessed to do so.
I wish I could tell you how blessed I am by your presence here! You will never know how much it means to me as I cannot express it!
Thank you, Ellen!!! ❤

Very cool and full of energy, Jodi … it’s so ‘prenant’ (the French word as I can’t think of the English one … p’raps ‘draws one in’ would be a good translation!) … I inclined my head left and saw a bold, dramatic cityscape! Anita 🙂
