The New Neighbors – A Charlie Guest Post

The New Neighbors – A Charlie Guest Post.

Some new neighbors moved in a few doors down.
So Mom and I decided to visit on one of our recent walks.

I tried to introduce myself,
but this guy was just a bit “cold.”

His eyes kinda said,
“Leaf” me alone.

I really tried
to make him smile.

I just couldn’t help but sense
a nose as cool as a cucumber.

But his arm was outstretched
displaying a sign of peace.

So I bid him a welcome,
and thanked him for the Christmas cookies.

I sure hope
he will warm up a bit!

Woofs & Wags,
Charlie

    • Thank you Ms Fiona – I think everyone should be friends. This guy melted away, sadly before we could really become good buddys, but it snowed again last night, so I’m hoping the kids build another one, and we’ll give it another try. The new neighbors have 7 kids!!!! I love hearing all the laughter and playing. Love, Charlie

  1. Aww Charlie! How nice of you to be so friendly to your new neighbor! I bet he will warm up to you eventually. Though he may be a lot smaller than.
Just keep being you Charlie and being friendly to all, no matter if they respond back with a warm welcome or not!
    Happy Saturday!

    • well – I tried mr john, but he disappeared before we could warm up to each other. Maybe the new neighbor kids will build another with the fresh new snow on the ground and it will be friendlier. I’m hoping! 🙂 love, charlie

    • He is VERY tall isn’t he? Yes – he disappeared. Rain came, then new snow, so maybe the new neighbor kids will build another. And maybe it will be more friendly! The new neighbors have 7 kids in their house! It is fun to hear them outside playing. I’m hoping Mom will let me play with them one of these days. 🙂 Love, Charlie

    • I am a good neighbor right Mr Gary? I hope you are doing well. I know you are missing Roxie and Terry. Maybe you can get a new doggie friend. There are so many like me who are looking for homes and love like you can give. Take care! Love, Charlie

    • I know – right – this one is really tall. There are 7 kids in the new neighbor’s house, so maybe they stood on top of each others’ shoulders to hoist up! I can only imagine what 7 kids could do together! love, charlie

  2. Oh, Charlie…Benjamin would have loved your new friend too! His Mr. Snowy left yesterday and it made him sad. We are hoping that the fresh snow in Mars may prompt a visit by Mr. Snowy to you. I am going to share these words with you, because you are a very wise fellow. I think they apply to snow people too.”Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same.” – Flavia Weedn. Thank-you for sharing your snow pal, Benjamin will love to see him on Monday. P.S. 7 new friends, WOW!

  3. Wow, your new friend is rather tall, Charlie! I bet he doesn’t stay around long though… ⛄️ Too bad they didn’t use cookies for your friend’s buttons. 😉 All snowman should really have cookies for buttons and not rocks. I think that would be a good page in your book, Charlie! 🍪💕🐶

    • He was very tall, wasn’t he ms jill??!! You are right, he didn’t stay too long. He is already gone. We had one very warm day, and he disappeared, but it snowed again and is very cold so I am hoping the new kids build another. Cookies for buttons is a wonderful idea! I would have REALLY liked him then! as it was, I wanted to eat his nose, but mom wouldn’t let me. It was a cucumber! Isn’t that funny? love, charlie

  4. From Benjamin to Charlie : “I love your snowman! He is part of Mr. Snowy’s family. You must put a coat on when you go out to play in the snow or you will be cold. I love you too! Bye!”

    • Hi Benjamin! Sometimes my mom does make me wear a coat outside, but I really hate it! You see, I already have a very warm fur coat on, so I only need it if it is really, really, cold! But YOU should always wear yours because you don’t have a built-in fur coat! Love you Benjamin!!! Charlie xo

  5. I’m sorry your new neighbor was so cold to you, Charlie. But I have a feeling that he won’t be around for too long…and hey, you got a cookie! Trust me, most of your introductions will go even better than that.
