Jodi, I have been travelling the last 10 days and absent from reading and writing. What a joy this poem is and I must say The Bean agrees with every word … snow is very mysterious!
May not make a good blanket to keep warm, but perfect to use for an ice pack if needed. Besides its beauty, at least it can bring so comfort and help decrease inflammation and pain should one go out in the elements and be so unfortunate to slip on the ice Luv Gary.
That’s actually our driveway – never ceases to amaze me the beauty of all the seasons and how different it looks. It was very early morning at the break of dawn.
I’m looking out at a gray, drizzly day and hoping for a pretty, snowy blanket to come back soon (now that I got my yard raked in the interim. That darned sweet gum tree–STILL hanging on to its leaves!!!)…need that prettiness at least once more this winter! Thanks for sharing your unique and lovely perspective, my friend!
This one made me smile! Yes, snow makes a beautiful blanket….and one that is best enjoyed while sitting in a centrally-heated house, looking out the window while sipping a cup of something warm!
So true, Jodi! ❄ I have included the description of snow as a blanket and wondered later: where did this image came from? 😊 I guess it looks like a covering so this may have been it’s origin (?)

Ahhh, but the snowy blanket protects tree and plant roots so that they may rejuvenate in the spring!

It’s a blanket for Snow Angels, of course, while they watch over you and your family. Pretty picture, pretty words.
