Pouring Creativity.
In case you’ve wondered what I’ve been doing in my spare time……..
I’ve been mixing…
and pouring…
and twisting…
and turning…
and splashing color…
and creating….
and exploring imagination…
and learning new ways…
to create and express…
and stretching to larger sizes….
and bigger messes that are worth the paint in my finger nails and on my clothes!
and these special pieces for a sweet granddaughter’s room….
and another coming soon.
Yep – I’ve been painting and having so much fun exploring this abstract medium.
And I can’t wait to make more!
Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi
PS If you are interested in purchasing any of these except for the last two, they are for sale in our McKinneyX2Designs ETSY shop.
The 2nd one and the last are my favorites. Great job! 🙂

So exciting to see your creations. I have been curious about this technique my frugal tendencies make me cringe when I watch how much paint is wasted. And yet I follow some artists that pour, something intriguing about it. Lol I can’t wait to see where you will be going with this. I am excited for you!

The Toddler Art Critic is a wee bit overwhelmed : “This is a humongous lot of paint splashing around! Gem, how didn’t that make a mess all over the place?” At his request, I clicked on each in turn, then clicked again for the up close inspection. He decided this requires more time to think because “that’s alot of paint to look at.” Although, Benjamin did have this comment : “Where is orange? Did My Jodi runned out of orange?” He’s a tough critic! They do look amazing to me, but I’m not the art critic. Thank-you!!

Well the feathery one is really an apricot Orange color though the photo makes it look a bit less ornange. 😉

Wow! so happy seeing this post. I love abstract painting, I have few paintings in my studio that I’ve started but not finished yet. Love the choice of colours you picked for each one. Great job, now you inspired me to go downstairs and play with my canvas.
Hugs!

I’ve done MORE today! I love doing it so much! It is a bit messy. I pour over large pieces of cardboard and wipe up everything after painting – including myself – LOL! Did a couple commissioned watercolors this weekend too – which were so much less messy – LOL!

Gorgeous Jodi. Fantastic colors and textures. Do you just paint like this or is there a specific technique? Do you paint with colors that come premixed more thickly or do you add medium to your paint colors to thicken them?

I actually add pouring medium to thin the paint a bit and add some silicone to crest bubble cells. It is such a fun technique!!
