I’ve always thought of daisies
as smiles from Mother Nature.

Hope these make you smile.

Happy #WorldWatercolorMonth!

    • Thanks Loo! Again – so funny as this is one I almost didn’t share, and you say a fave. It had to grow on me, because it didn’t turn out being what I initially intended, and this was a third attempt. πŸ™‚ I actually watched a video that showed a super fun and loose technique of a field of dandelion flowers gone to seed. I didn’t like how my first and second attempts turned out, so using your wonderful tip of covering a sheet of watercolor paper with gesso – I started over using really wet paint and alcohol. Super fun to do. And on top of gesso it was even kinda crazier and slicker. But then my field seemed to have no point of interest, so I went back and added the big “focal point” daisy. Here is the link. Isn’t it a cool painting and technique? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrTtokvv7is

      • This may shock you. I’ve seen it lol. I don’t do anything with frisket. I may change my mind about it, and probably will. I own it, but hate the smell. You really did something very cool here, Jodi, and I’m loving the gesso resist more and more. Just posted another with that technique and it’s one that I would not have posted if it weren’t post a wc every day blah blah blah . lol. Anyway. Thanks for the YT link, much appreciated! Keep rocking them, you’re doing great. Lady WC doesn’t stomp on your toes often!!

      • LOL! Should’ve known! And I recall you saying that about frisket. I don’t use it often, but it is quite effective. I just stuck my nose in the bottle I have to see what it smells like. The smell is of amonia, but I don’t notice it when I use it, and I have a pretty good sniffer! πŸ™‚ Yours must be ultra sensitive. LOL! Can’t wait to check out your art. I had a little fun with some gesso this afternoon too πŸ™‚
