Those of us with grown children can look back and know this is true. But if there is anything I can say to young moms out there struggling to be a “perfect mother,” I would say:
Cherish the moments.
Many of the days are long, but the years are short.
Even on your worst days, I’ll bet your children still think you are THE Best!
Your children will become what you are, so be what you want them to be.
Be their sunshine when their clouds are gray.
Embrace the gift you are given in your children…
and just LOVE them!
Happy Mother’s Day!
Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

Jodi your card is awesome and sooo true!! You couldn’t have said it better about some days seem so long just to look back and wonder where all those years went. I hope you have a wonderful Mothers Day my friend 🙂

Thanks so much Ginger! I actually didn’t make this card, it is just a sweet saying I found on Pinterest. It really is true about long days and short years, but I am still completely enjoying a momma to my wonderful grown sons. Every day and every age has something special that can be appreciated and enjoyed. If we all just look for those cherished moments, life is so much sweeter. 🙂 Happy Mother’s Day to you too! (Are you a Momma?)

Yesterday, I rallied the Grandkids for a game of kickball…. It gave the mothers a chance to sit at the dining room table and talk. You know, that’s all it takes to make an afternoon.

Wow, this is wisdom right here. Wonderful advice. Thank you, as always, for a other beautiful post. (I wish I’d have known you then!) Your children will become what you are, so be what you want them to be. Wow. You should write a book. And illustrate it with your artwork and photographs. I smell a best seller!! Happy Mother’s Day to a wonderful lady. Hugs and love.

The days are long but the years are short. If that isn’t the truest statement about child-rearing ever. Hope you are going to have the best Mother’s Day ever, Jodi.

I know – right? When I first heard it, it was so profound, I have never forgotten. It is so true. Like being pregnant – looking back 9 months is so short, but remember how long those days were?! And when little ones needed fed in the middle of the night and you longed for a full night’s sleep – it’s just a blink now. So many others! Hope you are having a wonderful day celebrating the joys of being a mom, cherishing precious moments and memories, and creating more – in your own special way with your own special girl and family. HUGS!

I remember when my kids were 2 & 3 and being particularly demanding, I was secretly wishing they were grown and I could get some rest. Then I heard a voice (it wasn’t mine) loud and clear that said, “Don’t wish away their childhood. They’ll be grown and gone in the blink of an eye. Enjoy every minute with them now.” I don’t know if it was my mother or my guardian angel, but who ever it was, they were clearly aggravated with me! But I listened and never, ever wished they were anything other than what they were at the time! And I’m so glad! The days WERE long back then but the years have been incredibly short! Thanks for the wonderful MD thoughts!
