Smack in the Middle of Winter
The sunrise was beautiful
that mid-February day
when Charlie and I went
on an early morning walk.
And the sun just shone brighter,
and the sky turned bluer,
and the air grew warmer,
until it reached a sunny 68 degrees!
A record was set that caused
the robins to sing and the breeze to gently whisper.
It encouraged the daffodils to pop out of the ground,
and the earth smelled like Spring.
Charlie snoozed on the porch,
and we opened the window
while we painted and pounded
wearing light t-shirts.
It was a beautiful Spring day…
smack in the middle of winter.
Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi

Isn’t it wonderful to have those spring like days in the middle of the winter? Makes us even more hopeful for spring to come. We have had some nice weather too. Lovely poem, Jodi!

Spring is teasing us. 😀 I’m sure we will have more winter weather before spring actually gets here. But I will enjoy the joyous spring-like weather when I can.

Charlie and I just returned from a 4-mile walk, came home and opened the screen door. He is laying in the sun. Amazing!

We had a sunny day last Friday and my Jack basked in it. Cats always seem to find the sunny places. And it sounds like Charlie does too! Cheers to a Springlike day in the middle of winter! It gives us hope for Spring! ☀️🌷

Oh no! I’m sitting on a chaise lounge in bare feed and short sleeves with a book and iced teas on a Sunday afternoon in February. Miracles? Blessings? Global wArming? Mother Nature ? Whatever it is. I’m thankful. 😉👍☀️

I know – I got the chaise lounge out yesterday and closed my eyes to the sun and relaxed a bit out there – bare feet and all! In the middle of February! Crazy!

Lovely, Jodi! We are enjoying a bit of unexpected springtime here, too! It lightens our hearts and energizes our souls. Just yesterday, while enjoying sunshine out on the front porch, ‘Garden Fever’ struck…. right out of the blue! Springtime is just around the corner. I can feel it! ♡
