A Bright Spot in the Storm.
Need we really look
any further
than out the window
amidst a storm
when searching
for a bright spot?
Nature’s examples
teach us
there is always a bright spot
amidst a storm.
Cheers & Hugs,
Jodi
Bright red male cardinals fill my backyard in the winter and seem even more vibrant when the snow is swirling and blowing and the tree branches are bare. Such a bright spot in my day.
Perfect! And lucky you! (K)

Beautiful! People say when you see a cardinal, it’s an angel visiting from heaven.💗

I have heard that too. ☺️. If it is true, I must live in heaven because I am surrounded by them every single day. ❤️😇💕

Very nice Jodi. The cardinal really stands out. Maybe it’s Terry visiting you? Who knows? But if it is him he had to have changed his feather color from yellow to red and was willing to make the trip to you despite the cold. Have a great day. Thanks for the photo. Luv Gary

I suspect that your lovely red-feathered friend was reminding you that today is National Bird Day and to place some extra seeds into the feeders in celebration. This is not to be confused with Bird Day, that is celebrated on May 4th., founded by Pennsylvania’s own Charles A. Babcock of Oil City in the 1890’s. A beautiful photo and fantabulous poetic tribute on this Cardinal’s special day! Thank-you!

Lol. Ok ms encyclopedia. They have plenty of seed as always. 😉. But I am evening putting some water out every few hours as everything is frozen. 👍☺️

The seeds in my feeders are being blown away by the high winds and what remains are being covered by Winter Storm Grayson’s snow blowing everywhere! I think the water would be frozen in seconds here. I did not see a single bird from my kitchen window all day. It is not fit for man, beast or bird to be out today! I share my knowledge with you in the hope that you will enlighten the masses! Thank-you, again and always!

Reading the comments I just adore this notion that seeing a cardinal means you are visited by an angel. I absolutely adore them. Was transfixed by them and can’t wait to get back to them …. perhaps that is why 😇 💕

Wow, so much beauty in this picture! And wisdom in your words. Sometimes the bright spot is maybe not as striking as this red cardinal, but it´s worth at least searching for it… Wishing you a wonderful weekend from Wiesbaden! 🐦
