Remembering Spooky

black cat watercolor card

Our dear daughter-in-law lost a special beloved furry buddy this weekend.

My heart breaks for her as this is her first experience losing a pet.

I thought of her all day yesterday and wanted to do something special, so I decided to try to draw and watercolor a photo she posted in memory of Spooky and make it into a card last night.

This is my first try at doing a cat, and he sure doesn’t look exactly like sweet Spooky.Ā  But hopefully it is close enough to give Colleen a little remembrance and show her how much I love her and ache for her loss.

Hugs & Sweet Memories,

Jodi

  1. I am sorry to hear about Colleen losing her cat. You did a beautiful tribute of her cat for her Jodi. I think you did an excellent job on painting a cat! I’m sure Colleen will be very touched by your thoughtfulness.

  2. Black animals are difficult to photograph, never mind paint. This is sweet and warm and fuzzy just like the sentiments. I had a black cat named Spooky when I was little and can still picture her spooky little face. ā¤ļø

  3. How perfect, our handsome kitty looks. You did such an amazing job, the eyes and little white hairs on his chest are just right. Those were two of my favorite things about him. šŸ˜‰ He’ll forever be on office watch; as I found the most perfect place for his painting. I am so grateful to have this– such a sweet reminder of how special he was to me. I can’t thank you enough for always being there for me. I truly believe I am the luckiest daughter-in-law in the world for having all of you in my life.

To all of your amazing followers/friends who left kind condolences and hugs, thank you. šŸ™‚
