Our dear daughter-in-law lost a special beloved furry buddy this weekend.
My heart breaks for her as this is her first experience losing a pet.
I thought of her all day yesterday and wanted to do something special, so I decided to try to draw and watercolor a photo she posted in memory of Spooky and make it into a card last night.
This is my first try at doing a cat, and he sure doesn’t look exactly like sweet Spooky.Ā But hopefully it is close enough to give Colleen a little remembrance and show her how much I love her and ache for her loss.
Hugs & Sweet Memories,
Jodi
Awww poor Colleen. Give her big hugs from me, wouldja Jodi? What a kind and warm tribute to Spooky you’ve done here. Black cats are soo special. Sending love and hugs. š

It’s a really terrific watercolor painting. I love to watercolor, and I like the splashes you created and the broken lines around Spooky that give the feel of movement. I’m sure your niece will love it.

Oh, so sorry for Colleen’s loss of Spooky! Always difficult to loose a pet! So sweet of you to paint her cat. You can never go wrong when you give a gift from your heART, right Jodi? ā¤ļø

Black animals are difficult to photograph, never mind paint. This is sweet and warm and fuzzy just like the sentiments. I had a black cat named Spooky when I was little and can still picture her spooky little face. ā¤ļø

How perfect, our handsome kitty looks. You did such an amazing job, the eyes and little white hairs on his chest are just right. Those were two of my favorite things about him. š He’ll forever be on office watch; as I found the most perfect place for his painting. I am so grateful to have this– such a sweet reminder of how special he was to me. I can’t thank you enough for always being there for me. I truly believe I am the luckiest daughter-in-law in the world for having all of you in my life.
To all of your amazing followers/friends who left kind condolences and hugs, thank you. š
